Community Yoga

This class is taught by:

Beth Day

“My yoga journey began in high school with some VHS Power Yoga tapes my mom bought. I was fascinated by the physical and mental challenge yoga could provide, as well as the never ending possibilities for growth and transformation on the mat. Over the last 20 years, I have continued being a mostly self-educated student of yoga. I used many principles of yoga during the 13 years I worked as a doula (birth coach) and childbirth educator. I began teaching yoga 8 years ago and was amazed at how much deeper and more meaningful my practice became when I was focused on creating powerful experiences for my students. I love how yoga guides me into a unique mental state of clarity and creativity where I feel truly open to the universe and connected to the divine. Yoga has strengthened and empowered me through 4 pregnancies and births, as well as through baby-raising, and child-rearing. It has focused and challenged me during periods of growth. And it has guided me and held me together in times of sadness and grief. I can’t imagine my life without yoga. It will be a lifelong pursuit.”

Off the mat, Beth is a mom of 4 amazing kids. She loves a good adventure and has a bucket list a mile long. She enjoys music, art, literature, good food and drink, time spent in nature, leisurely bike rides, quality time with family and friends, and helping others.

Danielle Schaum

"I began my practice 9 years ago when I was working in hospitality. Coming from the corporate world, I carried a lot of stress and bad eating habits. Yoga gave me stress-relief and better perspectives about the mind and body. Having had a car wreck in high school, I struggled with chronic back pain that quickly dissipated with a daily practice. You can expect to move through upbeat vinyasa flows synced with energizing music to detoxify and strengthen the body. She also teach slower-paced flows with guided meditations to give you peace of mind."

Danielle completed her 200-hour training through world renowned Sanskrit Scholar, Cheryl Oliver, Baron Baptiste trained Nicolle Callahan and Ashtanga-Vinyasa based Gina Dunn. When she's not teaching, she is doing voice over work or outdoors with her husband, 2 daughters, German Shepard and cat.

Jeanetta Irving

"I moved to Bentonville, Arkansas in 2006 and the move was accompanied by a dramatic life change. Previously I traveled extensively completing accounting work, but once moving to Arkansas I was given the chance to stay home with my two daughters. Needing a break from the busy (and stressful!) life of being a 24-hour Mom, I accepted a neighbor’s invitation to attend a yoga class. Right away I fell in love with yoga! The combination of exercise, peace, and no expectations for an hour allowed me to slow down, reflect and grow in a peaceful environment. In 2008, I began teaching yoga at a local fitness club and did so for several years. I enjoyed promoting health and healing so much, I took a break from teaching yoga to obtain my nursing degree. Shortly after graduating, I went back to practicing yoga and have continued to practice several times a week. Being an active yoga practitioner provides me an overall feeling of wellness that I love to share with other members of our community!"

Off the mat Jeanetta loves to work in her yard, garden, cook and spend time with her family and three cats!

Lynn Hancock ~ Studio Owner/Director of Teacher Training

"My journey with yoga began in my early 20's as I was experiencing the stress of 'growing up' and had heard how relaxing yoga was. I started practicing in my duplex, with a book and magazines I bought. What I discovered, was a multifaceted practice with many branches, from challenging to peaceful and restorative. Yoga makes space for everyone. With each stage in my life, marriage and motherhood, I always found myself returning to yoga as I always felt grounded and challenged after I practiced. After discovering hot yoga, I was thrilled when Cindee opened Yoga~Story. When I teach, I love the look on someone’s face when they have done a challenging pose for the first time, open a hip, melt into the mat or make a surprising realization about self and ability. When they let go, their struggle becomes their strength."

Lynn enjoys spending time with her husband and son, running, cooking, socializing and enjoying everything that Bentonville has to offer. She began her yoga journey 13 years ago and left the corporate world to become an AFAA certified personal trainer and 200 hour certified yoga instructor.
