Favorite pose and why? My favorite pose is always changing; it’s typically whatever pose I last hated the most and now feel strong or flexible enough to now do.

10 words or less on why I love yoga: It taught me to trust and enjoy process as opposed to worrying about outcome.

How do you remain grounded outside the yoga studio? I remain grounded outside the yoga studio by spending time with my husband who, after more than 20 years, still cracks me up and helps me see things from a fresh perspective. And, nothing makes me appreciate being alive more than being outdoors.

Advice to a beginning yogi? (and all yogis, for that matter) Your body, no matter what, is amazing. Revel in what you are capable of, regardless of where you’re starting or where you may have once been.

Favorite mantra or intention? Intention: be present, be kind

Biggest misconception about being a yoga instructor? The biggest misconception I see about being a yoga instructor is that instructors are different from students (e.g. that we are super flexible or “natural” at yoga). We all bring our own set of challenges to the mat and seek to develop our own relationship with yoga and ourselves.

One healthy food I swear by and why? I don’t swear but any particular food but try to avoid processed foods. And, I have a long-standing, deep commitment  to high-quality dark chocolate. :-)
