How long have you been practicing? My yoga journey began on August 22nd, 2018.

 

Any advice on how to make time for practice with a busy work/family schedule? Make time,
even if it is not as often as you would like to practice.

 

Describe your yoga practice in one word: Healing

 

How does your yoga practice benefit your other passions/hobbies? Yoga has helped me to be
more mobile and have less pain.

 

Why did you start practicing yoga? I have experienced low back pain for 25 years. I was always
told that I just have a tilted pelvis. I have visited numerous chiropractors and physical therapists over
the years which has helped in the past. Earlier this year, my back pain became so intense that I
could barely walk for about 2 ½ months. I visited the doctor and found out that I have grade 2
spondylolisthesis (slipped vertebrae). My current chiropractor did tell me that I have the condition,
but I did not think much of it since I had always had low back pain and just sort of dealt with it. I
found myself on the fast track to spinal fusion. My husband and I had an appointment with the
surgeon and it was time to schedule the surgery. I got really scared and we decided to take a step
back and look more into alternative methods. That same night, I sent an email to Yoga Story asking
if yoga was something that could help me and Lynn responded the very next day. I started with a few
private sessions with Lynn because I was afraid of hurting myself. It is now about two and a half
months since my first session with Lynn and I feel incredible!! The healing powers of yoga is truly
amazing.

 

How does yoga impact your everyday life? Yoga has helped me to become more mobile and
have less pain as well as be more calm and have less stress.

 


What misconceptions about yoga, if any, were changed after you started practicing? I always
thought yoga was for people that were thin and flexible. I have since learned that it is truly for every
